Character

Striboh

Striboh is the god of the winds and the sky, one of the gods of the Prince Volodymyr’s pantheon. Striboh moves water in rivers and seas, directs arrows, bellies a sail. He was worshiped as the destroyer of all sorts of wickedness and evil intentions. He was especially respected by plowmen, warriors and sailors.

Striboh has 12 children and many grandchildren. They are all winds, and Striboh is their leader. They help him to turn aside and direct arrows in battles. Striboh also has 4 giant brothers who blow from the four corners of the earth by his order. Therefore, Striboh was called the father of the winds, and Saturday was considered his day as a parental day. For this reason, he personifies the archetype of the Great Father in Magic World, a wise adviser and mentor.
