Suchenko is a Ukrainian folktale character. He combines such features of a Ukrainian soldier as courage and savvy. Suchenko is a young strong man who embodies the image of a determined and brave Cossack nobleman. He was born in a miraculous way by a dog that had eaten the bones of a golden-finned pike.
Suchenko alone defeats many-headed firedrakes, using his power and smartness. He can turn into a cat. Suchenko receives a task to get a bride for the tsar. Along the way, he meets 11 men with various magical powers who help him succeed. Eventually, Suchenko marries a princess.
