Tsur (or Chur) is one of the most popular ancient Ukrainian gods. He is a god of home-fire, guardian of land borders, god of peace, harmony, and home comfort. He was considered a defender of people and household from all the evil, he also protected the ancestry fire and memory. People addressed him as a guardian of property rights, ‘Tsur, it’s mine!’
Tsur lives in a stove of a warm cozy house. He keeps the fire, given to people by the god Svaroh. In case of danger, people used to say, ‘Tsur to you, Pek!’ since they believed that Thur could protect them from Pek, the evil god of mischief and quarrel. In Magic World, Tsur represents the archetype of a guardian and defender.
