In the second season, we vividly demonstrate how rich and diverse Ukrainian mythology is. 27 letters – 27 heroes of myths and legends. And this is far from a complete list!
2024
Season 3
In the third season, we delve into the universe as envisioned by Ukrainians, ancient gods and the afterlife, strange creatures and treasures, as well as books worth reading.

A Show About Ukrainian Mythology
The “Magical World UA” initiative has been introducing both children and adults to the captivating world of Ukrainian mythology since 2020. Thanks to the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, the show “Magical World of Ukrainian Mythology” has released three seasons, serving as a video encyclopedia of Ukrainian myths, legends, folk beliefs, and worldviews. Through a modern format, we bring to life stories that were once found only in the pages of encyclopedias and ethnographic studies.

A Show About Ukrainian Mythology
The “Magical World UA” initiative has been introducing both children and adults to the captivating world of Ukrainian mythology since 2020. Thanks to the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, the show “Magical World of Ukrainian Mythology” has released three seasons, serving as a video encyclopedia of Ukrainian myths, legends, folk beliefs, and worldviews. Through a modern format, we bring to life stories that were once found only in the pages of encyclopedias and ethnographic studies.
Cooler than Marvel
“The Magical World of Ukrainian Mythology” is the first thematic show about Ukrainian mythical heroes and their place in the modern world.
In this show unique characters of our mythology are presented as superheroes with amazing “superpowers” and incredible stories no less exciting than modern popular fantasy.
Our plan is to attract the attention of foreign audiences to Ukrainian mythology and reveal its potential for modern world culture.

Future technologies
While working on the show, we used artificial intelligence to visualize the heroes of Ukrainian mythology for the first time. Some of the characters presented in the show were created using Midjourney AI. We had a lot of fun during the creation process (as well as on the set) and as a result we got an opportunity to show a completely new look at mythical images. We also hope that artificial intelligence has become a little bit more acquainted with the intangible cultural heritage of Ukraine.

Video Encyclopedia of Ukrainian Myths and Legends
3 seasons. 18 episodes. More than 80 stories.
Between 2022 and 2024, three seasons of the show were released, featuring over 80 characters and phenomena from Ukrainian mythology, along with recommendations for must-read books. Through this series, we’ve shown modern audiences that Ukrainian mythology is just as rich, diverse, and captivating as Greek or Norse mythology. The second and third seasons have been dubbed in English, making the fascinating world of Ukrainian myths accessible to international viewers.
